Work- wear for local authority employees

(1) In the last two financial years, how much has your organisation spent on workwear (uniforms, personal protective equipment etc) for employees?

(2) Re workwear purchased in the last two financial years, what was the nature of the contract, eg. direct from manufacturer or via a retailer?

(3) Re workwear purchased in the last two financial years, what was the country of origin of the work-wear, if known?

Fairtrade and ethical goods

(4) In the last two financial years, what Fairtrade branded goods have been purchased by your organisation

(5) What was the yearly spend of these goods?

(6) In the last two financial years, what, if any, fair trade or ethical award criteria has been applied to public contracts issued by your organisation? For instance, requiring contractors (and their sub-contractors) to comply with core conventions of the International Labour Organisation (ILO).

(1) The expenditure on clothing and uniforms as recorded in the Financial Management System for the last two financial years is 2011/12 £0.120M and 2012/13 £0.134M.

(2) Via a distributor/ retailer.

(3) This information is not held and is therefore exempt under Section 17 (1b) of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

(6) We have not included this clause in any contracts that the Council has issued, however we use framework contracts developed by Scotland Excel that do apply Fair Trade and Ethical award criteria.
