1. What proportion of your current qualified social worker workforce* can be considered newly qualified** in a) adult services and b) children's services? Please show how you worked out any percentages.

2. What is the starting salary for newly qualified social workers in a) adult services and b) children's services?

3. Do you have any official policies, targets or quotas when it comes to how many/what proportion of newly qualified social workers you employ at any one time in either service? If so, please provide details.

4. Are you currently actively recruiting newly qualified social workers in adult and/or children's services?

5. Are you currently open to considering applications from newly qualified social workers for jobs advertised in adult and/or children's services?

6. Do you currently run the assessed and supported year in employment (ASYE) or equivalent scheme for newly qualified social workers in a) adult services and b) children's services?

7. How many social workers are currently taking part in your assessed year in a) adult services and b) children’s services, if applicable?

* References to the social worker workforce should be taken to mean qualified social workers who are registered with a national social work regulator and employed to carry out social work duties, including social workers with management responsibilities.

** For the purposes of this request, a "newly qualified social worker" is defined as someone in their first year of practice, who has already gained a social work degree or equivalent and registered with a national social work regulator such as the Health and Care Professions Council in England.

b. Within Placement Services one social worker is still in first year of registration. 3% of qualified social workers in placement services (including senior social workers and team managers) 0.5fte expressed as a percentage of 16.3 fte.

Continuing Support East Team do not have any newly qualified social workers.

Continuing Support West Team do not have any newly qualified social workers Intake & Assessment Team do not have any newly qualified social workers.

4. Not actively recruiting NQSW, but will consider all relevant applications to All posts open to NQSW Support available via SW training team for NQSW but mainly through teams.

We run monthly workshops for  ALL NQSWs and the programme is planned from September to June with July identified as an opportunity for NQSW to complete their Post Registration Training and Learning (PRTL). We have a worker in the SW Training team dedicated to offering opportunities for 1-1 discussion if requested.
