1)      In each of the last five calendar years(2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013), what was the average waiting time for people who were given a new social let by the council? Please give the average waiting time for each individual year.

2)      In each of the last five calendar years(2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013), how many people were on the council’s waiting list for a council house? Please give the number of people who were on the waiting list in each individual year.

1. This information is not held and is therefore exempt under Section 17 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.  The data is very difficult to supply due to the way our housing system is set up.  Information is recorded at different stages of the application process which can affect the application date.  Below is data we can provide as at 31.01.14.

2.  In terms of its allocation policy, the Council operates three lists (waiting, transfer and homeless priority) and will allocate from any list depending on the circumstances that prevail in the local area, preferences of applicants and the type of property that becomes available.
