Advice to Help with Daily Living - AskSARA
Would you like to look into ways of helping yourself with daily living activities to support your continued independence at home?
Do you want to find appropriate equipment and products which could make a difference to you?
The AskSARA website can help. The free online, guided self-assessment tool can be accessed from the comfort of your own home.
Quick and easy to use, AskSARA was developed by the Disabled Living Foundation’s team of Occupational Therapists in partnership with the Department of Health.
The award-winning website provides impartial advice and information on topics like:
- your home environment
- your health
- your daily living activities.
You choose the area in which you are experiencing difficulty, answer the simple yes/no questions on screen and AskSARA will offer advice and product suggestions through a personalised assessment.
The site contains more than 1,300 links to 480 product group suggestions, over 500 pieces of useful help and advice, example case studies and equipment feedback from others.
If you choose to buy any equipment recommended through AskSARA, this is your responsibility. A choice of national and online retailers should give you the best opportunity to shop around. This allows you to decide who you buy the equipment from, what brand and at what price.
Once you have tried AskSARA we would be interested in your views on how easy it was to use and whether you found it helpful. Please email your comments to firstname.lastname@example.org.
