Peter Anson's Work - The Anson
Collections
When Peter Anson died, in 1975, he bequeathed the
copyright of all his works to the Abbot of Sancta Maria Abbey, at Nunraw in
East Lothian. In 1979 over four hundred paintings and drawings, plus many other
personal books and papers, were deposited with Moray District Council. The
Moray Council is privileged to be the guardian of the complete Peter Anson
Collection, containing a wealth of material which is a unique record of the
Scottish fishing industry. You may like to use the links below to browse
through a few examples of this material. Much of it is fragile or otherwise
unsuitable for public display at the gallery; these pages are possibly the most
convenient way in which to make some of this material available to a wider
audience.
