If you are interested in the voyage of discoveries made by local botanists in Moray, then this is where you start.

It is through the pioneering work of people such as Dr. George Gordon, Dr. Innes and James Keith that we know something of the plants which grew around Moray in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. They certainly realised the importance of simply recording what was there at the time, and it is as well that they did, for much of what they saw has now vanished.

Here is how the wild plants of Moray came to be discovered and recorded. It is by no means a complete list, but hopefully includes the people who have contributed most to the discoveries.
