Response 29-07-2026

  1. We do not carry out annual inspections; we carry out a monthly inspection programme.

  2. Our surveyors have not recorded risk by a traffic light system. We have done the following:                 All RAAC monitoring has been carried out fully in accordance with the established monthly inspection schedule. Each month, 33% of all RAAC‑identified locations are inspected by Structural Engineers, ensuring that every location is reviewed within a three‑month cycle.

As part of the inspection process, any issue identified is formally reported and reviewed to determine the level of risk. Where a risk is assessed as being too high to be safely managed through routine monitoring alone, appropriate remedial action is taken immediately.

During previous inspection periods, a small number of high‑risk issues were identified. All of these were mitigated promptly and effectively, in line with the recommended structural guidance.

At present, there are no outstanding issues awaiting mitigation. No new concerns have been identified during recent inspections, and no additional intrusive or detailed surveys have been required beyond the planned monitoring regime.

  3. The funds required to cover these costs were found from existing Council budgets.
