Benefits - Can a tenant’s entitlement to Housing Benefit Change

Housing Benefit is paid according to a tenant’s circumstances, if these circumstances change the amount of Housing Benefit they are entitled to can also change.

A new Local Housing Allowance rate may be applied annually. 

This means that the amount of rent taken into account by the Benefits Service could change, and therefore the amount of Housing Benefit that the tenant is entitled to could be less than their rent.
