Castle to Cathedral to Cashmere

The 'Castle to Cathedral to Cashmere' project aims to enhance the visitor experience of Elgin City Centre and Moray and provide greater access to local heritage whilst improving economic opportunities within the region.

Part of the project is a £4 million + development of the Elgin Heritage Experience and Grant Lodge which will complement the works at Elgin Cathedral by Historic Scotland. This will develop the corridor – from Ladyhill to the Cathedral and on towards Johnstons of Elgin – and will include the introduction of interpretive signposts along the route and related development of Grant Lodge as an archive/family history centre, registrars and Visitor Information Service.

Discover Moray's Great Places

The Discover Moray’s Great Places project is being led by the Moray Council on behalf of the Moray Economic Partnership and its Tourism & Culture theme group. The project is exploring how Moray’s rich heritage can be further enhanced through working closely with Moray’s Creative Scotland Place partnership. The aims are to maximise community learning and engagement with heritage (in particular younger people) and to attract new audiences, participants and visitors.
