Committee Services

The business of the Council’s decision making process is administered by Committee Services.  The primary duty of the Service is toward the Council itself, and its Committee Services Officers operate with impartiality whilst facilitating the work of the Council and its Committees in accordance with the Council’s Constitutional Documents.

It is the responsibility of the Committee Services Officer to brief, advise and support the Chair and Committee Members on matters directly relating to the management of Council business.

In addition to their advisory role, the Democratic Services Manager and Committee Services Officers are attached to a Committee and are also responsible for undertaking all aspects of the organisation and administration necessary for the proper running of that Committee.
