I am writing to request clear, up to date information on council owned housing that is currently unoccupied within your local authority area.

To avoid any misunderstanding or unnecessary work, I am requesting only numerical data already held within your housing management systems. I am not requesting correspondence, emails, reports, or documents.

Please provide the following:

1. The number of council owned homes currently unoccupied, broken down by the following time periods:

a) vacant for less than 1 month
b) vacant for 1–3 months
c) vacant for 3–6 months
d) vacant for 6–12 months
e) vacant for more than 12 months

2. For each of the above categories, please provide the primary reason for vacancy, using the following standard categories:

3. The number of council owned homes that, in your assessment, could be recommissioned and made available for allocation within:

4. Your current average void turnaround times, broken down into:

a) standard repairs
b) major repairs
c) allocation processing

5. The number of women and women with children households currently in temporary accommodation within your authority, including:

a) those placed in mixed hotels or B&Bs
b)cthose placed outside your local authority area
c) those waiting longer than 6 months for permanent housing

6. The number of breaches of the Unsuitable Accommodation Order recorded in the past 12 months.

7. For each unoccupied council owned home, please provide its size and occupancy capacity, using the following categories:

a) bedsit
b) 1bedroom
c) 2bedroom
d) 3bedroom
e) 4bedroom or larger
and the maximum number of occupants each property is designed to accommodate.
