FOI Request - Food Incidents
Request 101004020360
Please can you provide me with details of instances in EACH of the last two financial years where the council has recorded of food being sold that was mislabelled or otherwise sold as something it was not. For instance, this would include:
1. Instances of substitution – whereby a product or ingredient is substituted with a similar, lower-quality substance
2. Instances of adulteration – whereby a foreign or inferior substance (e.g., bulking agents, water) are added to a product
3. Instances of mislabelling – whereby a food product is incorrectly labelled or marketed, i.e. whiting being sold as cod, beef being sold as lamb etc.
