I am requesting the following information under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

For each of the financial years 2021/22, 2022/23, 2023/24, 2024/25 and 2025/26, please provide:

1. The number of potholes or road defects reported or recorded by the council.

2. The number of compensation claims received relating to potholes or road surface defects, and the total amount paid out in compensation in each year.

3. The highest single compensation payment made in relation to a pothole or road surface defect in each year.

4. The total amount spent on road maintenance and repairs in each year.

5. The estimated value of the council’s road maintenance backlog in each year, where this figure is held.

6. The average time taken to repair a pothole or road defect following it being reported or identified, where this information is held.
