I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 regarding Moray Council's expenditure on external tree surgery and arboricultural contractors.

Please provide the following details regarding the most recent or currently active framework agreement/contract for these services:

1 .The current day rate, hourly rate, or schedule of rates paid to external contractors for a standard team of tree surgeons (please specify the standard team size, e.g., 2-man or 3-man team).

2. The emergency call-out hourly or daily rates currently paid for these services.

3. The total annual expenditure by Moray Council on external tree surgery services for the financial years 2024/25 and 2025/26.The names of the contractors currently appointed to the council's framework or small works register for tree maintenance.

This information would be deemed commercially sensitive, as such Section 33(1)(b) of FOISA is applicable. It is in the public interest that the public purse is spent with the most competitive rates available and revealing any such rates might have a negative impact on future or competitive rates, ultimately negatively impacting the public purse, therefore the exemption is updated as being in the public interest.
