Housing-related support services for people who need help to live independently and safely

  • Housing Support - The Moray Council housing support service can be provided short or long-term.

It covers a range of services including:

  • general counselling and support
  • advice on food preparation
  • reminding people to lock up at night
  • advice about using domestic equipment and how to arrange minor repairs
  • assisting people to keep the inside of their property clean
  • arranging for professionals to call or to make appointments to see them
  • help to claim welfare benefits, personal budgeting and debt counselling
  • help in dealing with neighbour disputes
  • assistance with shopping and running errands
  • providing emergency alarm systems
  • Sheltered Housing - each home is fitted with an alarm system to make sure help is available at any time in an emergency.  It also has the services of a warden who contacts you every day. Sheltered housing is an option to help you to continue to live safely and independently with the support you may need and want.
