Ratings Explained:

• Pass – Meets legal requirements and has systems in place for safe food.
• Improvement Required – Does not meet legal requirements; improvements needed.
• Awaiting Inspection – New or recently changed business awaiting first inspection.
• Exempt – Very low-risk businesses (e.g., selling small amounts of food as a secondary activity).

Certificates are voluntary to display, but most businesses show their rating prominently.

If no certificate is displayed, consumers can check online.
