I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 regarding applications for financial assistance to purchase or obtain essential beds, mattresses and bedding.

I am particularly interested in applications made through the Scottish Welfare Fund, including Community Care Grants and Crisis Grants, alongside any other relevant council-administered welfare assistance, crisis support or furniture assistance schemes.

Please provide the following information for 1 April 2023 to 30 September 2026, broken down into the following periods:
- 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024
- 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2025
- 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026
- 1 April 2026 to 30 September 2026 (or latest date available)

Information requested
1. Applications for beds, mattresses and bedding How many applications for financial assistance or other support were received where the stated purpose included obtaining a bed, mattress or bedding?

2. Successful and unsuccessful applications Of the applications identified in Question 1:
- How many were successful, resulting in financial assistance, a grant, voucher, item or other support being provided?
- How many were unsuccessful, resulting in no support being provided?

3. Applications involving children
Of the applications identified in Question 1:
- How many specifically related to obtaining a bed or mattress for a child or children?
- How many of these applications were successful?
- How many were unsuccessful?

4. Financial support provided
What was the total amount of financial support provided towards beds, mattresses and bedding through these schemes during each reporting period?
