1. If your authority licenses wheelchair accessible vehicles, I would be grateful if you could provide copies of any of the following documents or requirements currently in use:

a) The specification or technical standards that vehicles must meet in order to be licensed as wheelchair accessible vehicles
b) Any definition adopted by the licensing authority to determine what constitutes a wheelchair accessible vehicle
c) Any standard or special licence conditions attached to taxi or private hire car licences relating to wheelchair accessible vehicles
d) Any relevant policy, guidance or assessment criteria used when determining applications for wheelchair accessible vehicles
e) Any requirements relating to wheelchair restraint systems, passenger safety equipment, accessibility features or driver training.

2. In particular, I would be interested in understanding the criteria used by authorities when determining whether a vehicle is capable of safely accommodating a wheelchair user whilst remaining seated in their wheelchair during transit.

3. Any documents, policies or conditions, or links to published guidance would be greatly appreciated and will assist us in reviewing our current approach.
