Education Maintenance Allowance
Education Maintenance Allowance (EMAs) provide financial support to all eligible young people from low income families who undertake a full time course at school or Further Education. An EMA consists of a weekly allowance during term time and a primary condition of payment is that pupils adhere to their individually tailored Learning Agreement. Specific arrangements exist for those young people on Activity Agreements who are entitled to an EMA.
