Request 101002939734

Please could I request the following under freedom of information legislation:

1. The cost of cleaning up rural Fly-tipping in total from 1 April 2020 to 29 November 2021

2. Numbers of recorded cases of rural fly-tipping across the council area from: 1 April 2019 to 29 November 2021
3. And any other Council figures on rural fly-tipping from the period 1 April 2016 to 29 November 2021

Response 05-01-21

1. We do not record the costs for cleaning up fly tipping separately as we include these tasks within the normal daily tasks for vehicles and crews within the vicinity of the incident. This information therefore falls under Regulation 10(4)(a) of the Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004 - information not held.

2.

Of 529 reports of fly tipping sent to the Waste department between the dates of 1/4/2019 – 29/11/2021, a total of 171 are classed as rural fly tipping incidents.

319 incidents of fly-tipping were reported to the Anti-Social Behaviour department, however this data is not held in a way that differentiates rural and non-rural incidents. The number of specifically rural fly-tipping incidents therefore falls under Regulation 10(4)(a) of the Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004 - information not held.

3.
