FOI Request - Short-Term Let Licensing (October 2023)

I am contacting you in order make a FOI request under The Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002. Based on the precise date 1st October 2023, please could you provide me with information in respect of the following questions:
1.     How many short-term let licence applications have you received in total and then broken down by: (a) home sharing; (b) home letting; and (c) secondary letting?
2.     How many short-term let licences have been (a) granted (b) granted with conditions (c) withdrawn and (d) rejected?
3.    How many licence applications did you anticipate in order to reach your fees in total and then broken down by: (a) home sharing; (b) home letting; and (c) secondary letting?
4.    What short-term let licensing fees have been collected so far?
5.     How many members of staff have been employed to administer the scheme broken down by: (a) full time; (b) part time;
6.     How do you anticipate funding any enforcement?
 

Response 24-10-2023

1. This information is exempt under section 27 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002, information will be published on the Council’s website.  The Council publishes a register of short-term let licences which you can access on the website here: http://www.moray.gov.uk/moray_standard/page_140819.html.  To be helpful, given the register is in the progress of being updated, we can advise you today of the following totals as at 1 October 2023:

Total applications: 657  broken down as follows:-

(a)         Home Sharing – 33
(b)         Home Letting – 69
(c)          Secondary Letting – 522
(d)         Home Sharing and Home Letting - 33

Please note, applications are continuing to progress through the licence process therefore the above totals may be subject to change.

2. As at 1 October 2023:

(a) granted - 39
(b) granted with conditions – 39.  All licences granted are subject to the statutory mandatory conditions. For clarification, no licences have been granted with additional conditions.
(c) withdrawn - 8
(d) rejected - 0

3. 4. £320,287 of which sum includes an overpayment of £22.
