FOI Request - Complaints Regarding Insecure Employment Practices in Education

1.  Please provide copies or summaries of any complaints, concerns, grievances, or formal correspondence submitted between 1 January 2022 and the present day relating to:

a)  The use of insecure employment practices in schools (e.g. zero-hour contracts, lack of permanent roles, repeated fixed-term contracts, or inconsistent supply work).

b)  The impact of such practices on staff wellbeing, job security, or continuity of learning for pupils.

2.  Please include any complaints or concerns raised by:

a) Teachers or education staff
b) Trade unions
c) The GTCS, ombudsman, or any external oversight body

3.  If available, please also include:

a) Any investigations or internal reviews triggered by these complaints
b) Outcomes or actions taken in response

If it would exceed the cost limit to provide full documents, please prioritise providing a summary of complaints by year, including:

c) The number of complaints
d) The general nature of the concerns
e) Whether the complainant was a staff member, union, or external body

1. a) We do not use insecure employment practices and do not have zero hours contracts. All available post are advertised as opportunities for all.

b) We do not have such practices and therefore cannot answer this question.

2. a) We do not have any complaints or concerns raised by teachers or education staff.

b) We do not have such practices and therefore cannot answer this question.

c) We have not had any complaints by the GTCS, ombudsman or any external oversight body.
