1. It should be noted that the Council does not currently have a strategy for the provision of 1:1 devices to pupils.  The approved device to pupil ratios are 1:4 in Secondary schools and 1:6 in Primary schools.  This core allocation is provided via a central ICT budget, and the Schools supplement device provision through devolved budgets.

Devices issued:

Year     Total Devices Purchased
2020/21 871
2021/22 1462
2022/23 1832
2023/24 980
2024/25 707
2025/26 526

Total devices actively in use: 8235

The Council purchases all devices with warranty via various national IT hardware frameworks.  Out of warranty repairs are undertaken by the in-house team using spares wherever possible   The Council does not record data on the volume of repairs, nor the turnaround time.

Core allocation devices are replaced on a 5 year cycle.

2. It should be noted that the Council only holds financial data for the current financial year, and three previous financial years.  The information was requested previously and is therefore exempt under section 25 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002, information otherwise accessible. For ease of reference please find a link to the web page here: http://www.moray.gov.uk/moray_standard/page_163730.html

The Council is in the process of implementing Jamf as its MDM solution – perpetual licences were purchased as opposed to a subscription model.

The Council uses various Scottish Government frameworks for the purchase of devices.  Details can be found here: https://www.gov.scot/publications/frameworks-and-contracts/

3. Not held. There are no policy guidance documents held for these topics. Information that is not held falls under Section 17 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 - Information not held.
