FOI Request - School Mobile Phone Policies

1. I am requesting information on each school's current policy position on mobile phones.

Please could this include details like if there is:
a) A full ban,
b) increased restrictions,
c) no restrictions or
d) alternative policy if applicable.

2. Could I also be made aware if the school is currently mothballed or inactive.

This applies to all Moray Council schools.

In primary schools, mobiles and personal devices will not be allowed in school unless needed for medical reasons.

In secondary schools, students will need to keep phones switched off and out of sight during the school day except when needed for health purposes or other agreed exceptions.

If mobile phones are switched off, messages/calls should not be received through smart watches.  Where children and young people wear smart watches which work independent of a mobile phone, parents/carers should be encouraged to restrict use during the school day.
