The figures above include devices for use by staff and pupils, and may include devices which are not in regular use. The approved device to pupil ratio in Secondary schools is 1:4. Schools supplement device provision through devolved budgets, with refresh undertaken on a varying frequency.

2. Due to size, this has been sent directly to the requester. However, this is also otherwise accessible on the Moray Council website. This information is therefore exempt under section 25 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002, information otherwise accessible. For ease of reference please find a link to the web page here: http://www.moray.gov.uk/moray_standard/page_58530.html

3. The average bandwidth available at all Secondary schools is currently 500 Mbps.

4. The Council is in the process of migrating all of its schools to the Scottish Wide Area Network (SWAN). The target completion date for all schools to migrate to SWAN is the end of December 2025.

5. We have an internal process for schools to request devices for learners with insufficient access to technology at home. These SGDI (Scottish Government Digital Inclusion ) devices were part of Covid recovery funding provided by Connecting Scotland but there is not currently a budget to refresh or replace these devices. Schools continue to support learners through PEF funding which may include provision of ICT devices for children as required.
