FOI Request - Workforce Data (Nationality)

1. The nationality recorded of the local authority’s workforce as of 31 March 2025. If possible, please provide this information broken down by the roles these workers are performing (as defined by council workforce data).

1.  Not held. Information that is not held falls under Section 17 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 - Information not held.

Whilst the Ethnic origin and/or group is recorded, nationality is not recorded. 

If such information is held, it would be recorded within individual personnel files, and to search for that would cost the Council in excess of £600 of staff time. In accordance with section 12 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (excessive cost), we are therefore unable to comply with this part of the request. 

In addition to that, any information on nationality that is held is likely to be exempt under under Section 38(1)(b) of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 - Personal Information, as disclosure may lead to the identification of individuals.
