FOI Request - Potholes Reports Repairs and Claims Data

Please can you provide data for the most recent months this year available, and the figures for the previous year:

1.  The total number of potholes reported to the council.

2.  The total number of potholes repaired.

3.  The total number of potholes that remain unrepaired following a complaint or report.

4.  The total amount spent on pothole repairs.

5.  The number of compensation claims received from road users (drivers, cyclists, pedestrians, etc.) for vehicle or personal damage alleged to have been caused by potholes.

6.  The number and total value (£) of such claims that were paid out by the council.

7.  If held, please provide the average time taken between a pothole being reported and it being repaired.

Between 01/01/2024 and 29/10/2025, as per Q1, 1,686 enquiries were received relating to carriageway defects or potholes. Of those that resulted in a new instruction being raised, 18 of those remain unrepaired.
