1.  How many households (and individuals) are receiving a full discount on their Council Tax through all occupants being full-time students. Please also provide the percentage of households across your authority that are receiving this.

2.  How many households (and individuals) in your authority are receiving a 25% discount  on their council tax with at least one occupant being a full time student. Please also provide the percentage of households across your authority that are receiving this.

Please note: As the Council Tax database is continually changing, the data provided in the response below is based on a report run on 31st March 2025. All quantities are based on Council Tax accounts, as we are not able to ascertain the number of individuals in the household.

1. There are 141 Council Tax accounts with a student exemption (100% reduction) out of 47601 Council Tax accounts. This equates to 0.3% of the total Council Tax accounts.

2. There are 316 Council Tax accounts with a 25% discount due to students being disregarded, out of 47601 Council Tax accounts. This equates to 0.66% of the total Council Tax accounts.
