FOI Request - Moray Council Chief Executive Salary

Under the freedom of information act .I would 

1. like to know the percent of Pay rise that the chief executive of The Moray Council got in the year 2025- 2026.

2. I would also like to know what the chief executive of Moray council salary is for the year 2025-2026

Response 19-01-2026

1. The Chief Executive received 4% pay rise from 1st April in line with other council staff.

2. The new pay framework for Chief Executives (by COSLA) was implemented from 1 November 2025, with the agreed uplift phased over two stages one year apart. Half of the uplift took effect on 1 November 2025, with the second half due to be implemented from 1 November 2026.

The figures below relate to the first uplift effective from 1 November 2025, compared to the previous salary:

a) Increase applied in 2025/26 (from 1 November 2025): 11.8%
b) Salary from 1 November 2025: £156,676
