I would like to request the following information under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002:

1. How many Pupil Support Assistants are employed in your local authority area and how much this costs your local authority per annum.
2. How many Behaviour Support Assistants are employed in your local authority area and how much this costs your local authority per annum.
3. How many police officers are based in schools in your local authority area and how much this costs your local authority per annum.

1. There are 475 positions (some staff have more than one position) the total FTE is 201.55. There are also 131 relief positions within our current structure as at 31.01.2026  

£6,757,852 is the cost to the council of PSAs for the 2024-25 financial year. This figure does not include any costs of PSAs who were funded by external grants.

2. Not held. We do not have any staff with this job title. Information that is not held falls under Section 17 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 - Information not held.
