1. In relation to the number of Early Years teachers currently employed in your local authority. Please note, this request is to ascertain the number of main grade GTCS registered teachers who are currently employed in your local authority and are working:

a) Full or part-time, permanently based in a single nursery centre or nursery class, working with nursery children on a daily basis or

b) Peripatetically, across different settings, full or part-time, working with nursery children on a daily basis.

Please clearly state whether the early years teachers in your local authority are based in one setting or work peripatetically. If peripatetic, please give an indication of the model of deployment in terms of setting coverage and working patterns. For clarity, the focus of this FOI is on maingrade teachers, working with children on a daily basis and not on headteachers, depute headteachers or principal teachers, who may have separate responsibilities in relation to nursery settings. The latter are included in the Summary Statistics for Schools in Scotland 2025.
