FOI Request - Pavement Parking

I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 regarding pavement parking within your local authority area.

Could you provide responses to the following requests:

1. Please confirm whether your authority has implemented enforcement of the pavement parking prohibition under the Transport (Scotland) Act 2019, and if so, on what date the enforcement commenced (or is scheduled to commence).

2. Please provide the total cost incurred by your authority to implement pavement parking enforcement (including, but not limited to, signage, Traffic Regulation Orders, staffing, and public communications).

3. For each financial year since enforcement began, please provide the total revenue raised from Penalty Charge Notices issued for:

a) Pavement parking
b) Double parking
c) Parking adjacent to dropped footways

4. Please provide the number of complaints received per month for the 12 months prior to the start of the enforcement of pavement parking prohibition, and for each year since enforcement began relating to:

a) Pavement parking
b) Double parking
c) Parking adjacent to dropped footways

5. Please provide the total number of streets within your authority area that have been exempted from the pavement parking prohibition, along with the criteria used to determine exemptions (if available within the scope of this request).

1. Unfortunately, the Council does not have the means to enforce the restrictions. However, Police Scotland may choose to do so where there is a Road Safety concern.
