I am writing to request the following recorded information relating to residential and nursing care for older people aged 65+, for the most recent period available.

Please provide the following:

1. The total number of active care home facilities for older people within your area, broken down by:
a) local authority-run;
b) privately operated under contract / commissioned;
c) fully private.

2. The total number of registered bed places across those facilities, using the same three categories.

3. A list of each commissioned provider by name and address, and whether it is in the public, voluntary, or independent sector.

4. The number of people currently waiting for a residential or nursing care placement, as of the most recent date available.

5. The average and median waiting time, broken down by care type, along with the number of people who have been waiting longer than 6 months, if held.

6. The average daily fee or tariff for care-home placements in the relevant facilities.

7. The number or proportion of residents in council-funded placements whose primary support reason is: * dementia; * Alzheimer's disease; * other conditions.

8. A breakdown by gender of residents in council-funded placements, if held.

4. As of 25 June 2026 we have 14 people on our waiting list for long term care home placements.

5. As of 25 June 2026 we don’t have anybody on our waiting list who has been waiting for more than 6 months for placement in a care home.
The average wait for long term care placements is 53 days (52.64 rounded up) - the median is 43 days
Wait for residential rate placements average and median is 81 days (only 2 data points).
Wait for Nursing rate placements average is 48 days (47.92 rounded up) – The median is 42 days (41.5 rounded up).

6. Weekly Rates as per National Care Home Contract £1,074.13 per resident per week for nursing are and £930.45 per resident per week for residential care.
