FOI Request - Data on Housing Adaptations Across All Tenure Types

I am requesting data held by your local authority, including information managed by social housing providers, registered social landlords (RSLs), private sector housing teams, and any relevant Health & Social Care Partnership (HSCP) functions.
1. Requested Information. Referrals and Assessment Volumes. For the past three financial years, please provide total number of referrals for housing adaptations - breakdown by tenure:
a) Local authority social housing
b) RSL housing
c) Private rented sector
d) Owner occupiers
e) If recorded: number of referrals that did not result in an adaptation, and the alternative outcomes (e.g., equipment provision, telecare, enablement, rehousing).
2. Adaptation Types and Volumes - For each tenure category, please provide:
a) Number of major adaptations completed per year.
b) Number of minor adaptations completed per year.
c) A list or categorisation of adaptation types recorded (e.g., wet floor showers, modular ramps, grab rails, stairlifts, door automation, kitchen adjustments).
3. Costs and Funding Sources - For each tenure category, please provide:
a) Total annual spend on adaptations (major and minor separately).
b) Average and median cost per major adaptation.
c) Average and median cost per minor adaptation.
d) Funding sources used (e.g., capital budget, adaptations budget, repairs budget, private sector grants, top up funding, OT equipment budget).
e) If available: cost ranges for common adaptation types.
4. Processing Times and Workflow Stages - If your authority records workflow stages (e.g., referral ? assessment ? approval ? completion), please provide:
a) Average time taken for each stage, by tenure and by adaptation type.
b) Any waiting time targets used (e.g., Critical within 2 weeks, Substantial within 6 weeks).
c) Number of cases breaching targets, if recorded. [Example: Aberdeenshire uses Social Work Eligibility Criteria (Critical, Substantial, Moderate, Low) with corresponding time targets.]
5. Geographic or Demographic Data. Where available, please provide:
a) Urban–rural classification of households receiving adaptations.
b) Age of clients receiving adaptations (aggregated or anonymised).
c) Any recorded indicators of deprivation or priority status.
6. Data Format and Cost Limit - To avoid exceeding the statutory £600 cost threshold, please provide:
a) Aggregated data rather than individual case files.
b) Existing reports, tables, or datasets already held.
c) If any part of the request is estimated to exceed the cost limit, please:
d) Identify which elements exceed the limit.
e) Provide partial data or summaries already held.
f) Advise how the request could be refined to fall within the cost threshold.
