How much does it cost to visit a museum?

All the Moray Council's museums are free to enter, but we do welcome donations from visitors. There are other museums in Moray, which the Moray Council does not run, and some of these do make a small charge for admission.

When are your museums open?

You will find the details of opening times by following the links to each of our museums. The Falconer Museum in Forres is open throughout the year. The museum in Tomintoul is open from April to October; and the Nelson Tower in Forres is open between May and September.

Can you value an antique for me?

Unfortunately not. We are happy to try and identify an artefact or object for you, but valuation is a specialised skill which lies outwith the Museums Service. You would need to contact an auctioneer or professional antique dealer for this service.

Can we bring our school class to visit the museum?

Certainly, we welcome visits from schools. Please try to give us plenty of advance notice so that we can help you to prepare for your visit.
