Licensing Board Statement of Policy for the Gambling Act 2005

Welcome to the Moray Licensing Board's statement of policy page. The documents on this page explain how the Board will exercise its functions under the Gambling Act 2005.

Section 349 of the Gambling Act 2005 requires a licensing authority, before each successive period of three years, to prepare a statement of the principles that they propose to apply in exercising their functions and to publish the statement.

Licensing Board Consultation for Gambling Act 2005

Statement of Policy 2026 – 2029

Section 349 of the Gambling Act 2005 requires a licensing authority, before each successive period of three years, to prepare a statement of the principles that they propose to apply in exercising their functions and to publish the statement.

The Moray Council Licensing Board is currently reviewing its Gambling Act 2005 Statement of Policy for the period 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2029.

You are invited to submit your views and comments on the proposed statement. These may be sent by email to licensingconsult@moray.gov.uk or in writing to the Depute Clerk to the Licensing Board, Moray Council, Council Offices, High Street, Elgin, IV30 1BX by 5pm on the 15 August 2025.

All comments will be consider by the Licensing Board after the end of the consultation period. The Licensing Board members will make a final decision on the changes proposed and following Board approval the revised Statement of Policy will be implemented in 2026.
