Public Processions

What you need to do if you want to hold a Public Procession

If you are proposing to hold a public procession in Moray you must give written notice of the proposals to the Council at least 28 days before the event. This should include the date/time, route, number of participants, control arrangements and details of the applicant. Although at least 28 days notice is required, the organiser is requested to give as much notice as possible. The minimum period of notice may be reduced by the Council where an application is received within 28 days before the date of the proposed procession.

Application Form

An application form  (15.4 KB) which covers all the information needed is available on request from the    Committee Services Officer within Committee Services. On receipt of a completed form the Committee Services Officer consults with the Council's Roads Section and Grampian Police. If there are no objections an Order is made, which gives details of the procession, the conditions attached to the consent and the reasons for imposing such conditions.
