Persons responsible for enforcement action

Responsibility for the administration, management and enforcement of the registration of private landlords will be undertaken by staff within the Housing and Property Service.  Where appropriate, advice and referrals will be made to other services, for example, Environmental Health or Legal Services.

The Council will also ensure that general enforcement action, such as issuing late application fees, will be undertaken.

Specific case may be referred to the Landlord Registration Enforcement Panel.  This panel includes representatives from Legal Services, Environmental Health and Trading Standards.  Examples of such instances include, determining whether to send a report to the Procurator Fiscal.
