We, as a verifier in terms of the Building (Scotland) Act 2003, are required to maintain a register of Building Warrants, Completion Certificates and Enforcement Notices. Information on each specific subject is listed below.

Building Warrants and Completion Certificates

Using the Planning and Building Standards portal you can search through all Building Warrants and related Completion Certificates. Details of all applications lodged from mid 1990 together with some earlier applications are also available.

In the search box of the portal, enter a keyword, reference number, postcode or single line of an address. 

Enforcement Notices

The portal also allows you to view the list of Enforcement Notices served since 1st May 2005 by us in terms of the Building (Scotland) Act 2003.

Copies of Documents

If you have an interest in a property, as the owner or tenant, you are entitled to request copies of certain documents held in the Building Standards Register. We have an application form which you can use to apply for these documents (for a fee) and more information on the process, on our Request Copy Documents webpage.
