The Autism Training Team
The 2011-2014 Strategy for Adults in Moray with Autism highlighted a need for an increase in the general awareness and understanding of Autism among the professionals that come into contact, or could potentially come into contact with individuals with Autism.
The strategy highlighted that most people will have heard of autism but the majority do not currently have enough knowledge or understanding to think beyond stereotypes. This lack of understanding can add adverse pressures to situations for people with autism, leading with increased stress and frustration, and causing isolation.
The Autism Training Team is now offering autism awareness training. The team includes four Autism Trainers who have a diagnosis of Aspergers. To enquire about bookings and dates please email – leisa.zakeri@moray.gov.uk
