Shopping Buddy – ref BU28 (re-opened 22/3/18)

When – 2 hours once a week
Role – To support lady to make appropriate choices when shopping, reducing isolation and helping her to re-engage with her community  
Tasks – To support lady by providing companionship and conversation.  Support her to shop appropriately with healthy options in mind. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend Adult Protection training and reviews.
Skills required – An awareness of difficulties experienced by people with mobility difficulties desirable but not essential. Training provided. Caring nature, patience, and good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

Social Buddy – ref BU44 (re-opened 24/11/16)

When – 1–2 hours once a week  
Role – To support lady to go out in the community   
Tasks – To visit with lady and accompany her out in the community.  To find activities that may be of interest to her. To provide companionship and conversation.  Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend Adult Protection training and reviews.
Skills required – Awareness of difficulties experienced by people with mobility difficulties desirable but not essential. Training provided. Social Buddy – ref BU60 (26/10/16)

When – 2 hours once a week (male preferred)                                                                                                     
Role – To support gentleman to pursue his current interests  
Tasks – To support gentleman to continue to enjoy activities such a woodcarving and technology. To provide social contact and to promote social inclusion. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend Adult Protection training and reviews.
Skills required – Awareness of the difficulties experienced by people with dementia desirable but not essential. Training provided. Patience, good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, ability to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

Social Buddy – ref BU62 (reopened 24/4/18)

When – 2 hours once a week                                                                                                      
Role – To support lady to go out in the community
Tasks – To accompany lady out in the community helping to reduce anxiety. To provide social contact. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
Skills required – An awareness of the difficulties experienced by people with mobility difficulties and anxiety desirable but not essential. Training provided. Patience, good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, ability to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

Alarm Responder x 1 – ref BU73 (12/10/17)

When – as required, emergency situations only
Role – Community Alarm responder/keyholder for lady – must live within 30 minutes travel time   
Tasks – call and check well being of person who has activated alarm.  Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
Skills required – Understanding, calm in difficult situations, level headed, Standard Disclosure check required, paid for by Moray Council

Home/Social Buddy – ref CUL14 (29/11/17)

When – 2-3 hours once a week                                                                                                           
Role – To visit with gentleman in his own home
Tasks – To visit with gentleman in his own home for coffee and chat providing social contact and reducing isolation.  To help build confidence and support to go out once mobility has improved. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
Skills required – An awareness of difficulties experienced by people with mobility difficulties and a hearing impairment desirable but not essential. Training provided. Patience, good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, ability to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

Travel Buddy – ref BU77 (15/2/18)

When – 2 hours Wednesday afternoon                                                                                                      
Role – To provide driving assistance for lady to visit family in Elgin
Tasks – To drive lady’s own car to visit family in Elgin. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
Skills required – An awareness of the difficulties experienced by people with a learning disability, visual impairment and hearing impairment  desirable but not essential. Training provided. Patience, good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, ability to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

Social Buddy – ref BU80 (23/3/18)

When – 2 hours once a week
Role – To visit with gentleman in his own home and accompany out in the community
Tasks – To visit with gentleman for cuppa and chat. To support to attend lawn bowls matches. To  provide social contact and reduce isolation. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
Skills required – An interest in sport would be beneficial. An awareness of difficulties experienced by people with mobility difficulties (wheelchair user) desirable but not essential. Training provided. Caring nature, patience, and good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

When – 2 - 3 hours once a week
Role – To visit with lady in her own home
Tasks – To visit with lady in her own home for coffee and chat. To encourage outings into the local community. To provide social contact and help reduce loneliness.  Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
Skills required – An awareness of the difficulties experienced by people with a hearing impairment desirable but not essential. Training provided.
