Shopping Buddy – ref BU28 (re-opened 22/3/18)

When – 2 hours once a week
Role – To support lady to make appropriate choices when shopping, reducing isolation and helping her to re-engage with her community  
Tasks – To support lady by providing companionship and conversation.  Support her to shop appropriately with healthy options in mind. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend Adult Protection training and reviews.
Skills required – An awareness of difficulties experienced by people with mobility difficulties desirable but not essential. Training provided. Caring nature, patience, and good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

Social Buddy – ref BU46 (reopened 19/6/19)

When – One evening a week                                                                                                          
Role – To support gentleman to attend activities in the local community  
Tasks – To support gentleman to go out to play darts or pool. To provide social contact. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
Skills required – An awareness of the difficulties experienced by people with a learning disability desirable but not essential. Patience, good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, ability to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

Gardening Support – ref BU51 (re-opened 14/2/19)

When – flexible to suit volunteers and staff                                                                                                                
Role – To help maintain garden at Daycare Centre
Tasks – To maintain the garden areas, weeding, general maintenance.  Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
Skills required – An understanding of gardening. Patience, good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, ability to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

Travel Buddy – ref BU77 (15/2/18)

When – 2 hours Wednesday afternoon                                                                                                      
Role – To provide driving assistance for lady to visit family in Elgin
Tasks – To drive lady’s own car to visit family in Elgin. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
Skills required – An awareness of the difficulties experienced by people with a learning disability, visual impairment and hearing impairment  desirable but not essential. Training provided. Patience, good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, ability to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

Alarm Responder x 1 ref PO09 (2/3/18)

When – as required, emergency situations only
Role – Community Alarm responder for gentleman – must live within 30 minutes travel time   
Tasks – call and check well being of person who has activated alarm.  Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
Skills required – Understanding, calm in difficult situations, level headed, Standard Disclosure check required, paid for by Moray Council

Trampoline Spotters – ref BU94 (14/2/19)

When – Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday 2 pm – 3:30 pm (any one of these days)                                                                                                                
Role – To be a spotter for rebound therapy sessions
Tasks – To be vigilant and observant while staff and service users are on the trampoline. To interact with service users. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.

When – 2 hours once a week
Role – To visit with gentleman in his own home
Tasks – To visit with gentleman in his own home for coffee and chat, providing social contact and alleviating loneliness. To occasionally go for short drives/trips out. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.

Activities Buddy – ref CUL17 (26/3/19)

When – 2 hours once a week
Role – To support gentleman to explore activities in his local community
Tasks – To support gentleman to explore activities that may be of interest to him in his local community. To provide social contact. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
Skills required – An awareness of the difficulties experienced by people with a learning disability desirable but not essential. Training provided. Male preferred. An interest in cycling and computers would be beneficial. Patience, good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, ability to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

Correspondence Buddy – ref BU99 (7/5/19)

When – 2 hours once a week                                                                                                           
Role – To support gentleman with correspondence  
Tasks – To visit with gentleman and support with general correspondence. To help manage anxiety and improve mental health.  Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
Skills required – An awareness of difficulties experienced by people with mental health issues desirable but not essential. Training provided. Role – To visit with gentleman in his own home
