Social Buddy – ref BU44 (re-opened 24/11/16)

When – 1 – 2 hours once a week  
Role – To support lady to go out in the community   
Tasks – To visit with lady and accompany her out in the community.  To find activities that may be of interest to her. To provide companionship and conversation.  Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend Adult Protection training and reviews.
Skills required – Awareness of difficulties experienced by people with mobility difficulties desirable but not essential. Training provided. Patience, good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, ability to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

Alarm Responder x 2– ref CUL07 (7/9/15)

Where – CULLEN
When – as required, emergency situations only
Role – Community Alarm responder for lady – must live within 30 minutes travel time   
Tasks – call and check well being of person who has activated alarm.  Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
Skills required – Understanding, calm in difficult situations, level headed, Standard Disclosure check required, paid for by Moray Council

Kitchen Support – ref PO04 (16/6/16)

When – 9am – 1pm Tuesdays (September to June)                                                                                                     
Role – To assist with food preparation and serving and general kitchen duties   
Tasks – To assist the Portgordon Luncheon & Social Club in the kitchen, preparing and serving food and clearing away afterwards. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend Adult Protection training and reviews.
Skills required – Awareness of food hygiene desirable but not essential. Training provided. Patience, good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, ability to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

Social/Shopping Buddy – ref BU56 (2/6/16)

When – 2 hours once a week                                                                                                     
Role – To assist lady with shopping and correspondence  
Tasks – To support lady to get shopping. To assist with correspondence and support her to pay bills. To have coffee and chat, providing social contact. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend Adult Protection training and reviews.
Skills required – Awareness of the difficulties experienced by people with mobility difficulties and a hearing impairment desirable but not essential. Training provided. Patience, good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, ability to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

Social Buddy – ref BU60 (26/10/16)

When – 2 hours once a week                                                                                                      
Role – To support gentleman to pursue his current interests  
Tasks – To support gentleman to continue to enjoy activities such a woodcarving and technology. To provide social contact and to promote social inclusion. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend Adult Protection training and reviews.
Skills required – Awareness of the difficulties experienced by people with dementia desirable but not essential. Training provided. An interest in armed forces would also be beneficial. Patience, good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, ability to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

Social Buddy – ref CUL12 (13/12/16)

When – 2 hrs once a week                                                                                                      
Role – To support lady to go out in the community
Tasks – To support lady to go out in the community and to the local shops. To attend library bank when needed. To provide socialisation. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
Skills required – An awareness of the difficulties experienced by people with a visual impairment and mobility difficulties desirable but not essential. Training provided. Patience, good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, ability to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

When – 2 hours once a week                                                                                                      
Role – To support lady to go out in the community
Tasks – To accompany lady out in the community helping to reduce anxiety. To provide social contact. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
Skills required – An awareness of the difficulties experienced by people with mobility difficulties and anxiety desirable but not essential. Training provided. Patience, good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, ability to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

Social Buddy – ref BU67 (26/6/17)

When – 2 - 3 hours once a week                                                                                                           
Role – To visit with lady and support to go out in the community
Tasks – To visit with lady and accompany out for coffee and socialisation. To provide social contact and reduce anxiety. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
Skills required – An awareness of difficulties experienced by people with short term memory desirable but not essential. Patience, good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, ability to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

Shopping Buddy – ref FIND01 (re-opened 22/8/17)

When – 1 - 2 hours once a week (Findochty)                                                                                                         
Role – To visit with lady in her own home and support to local shops  
Tasks – To visit with lady and support her to go to her local shops, coffee and chat.  To provide social contact and reduce isolation. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
Skills required – Patience, good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, ability to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

Arts & Crafts Support – ref BU71 (25/8/17)

When – Tuesday 1pm – 3:30pm                                                                                                     
Role – To support service users attending daycare with arts and crafts
Tasks – To support service users with arts and crafts and projects. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
Skills required – An ability to support people with learning disabilities 1:1 in a group setting and have good arts and crafts skills. Patience, good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, ability to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council
