Home Buddy – ref FO61 (re-opened 25/4/19)

When – 1-2 hours once a week                                                                                                     
Role – Home visits for lady to chat and have a cuppa  
Tasks –To provide social contact and companionship.  Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend Adult Protection training and reviews.
Skills required – Awareness of the difficulties experienced by people with dementia  and mobility difficulties desirable but not essential. Training provided. Patience, good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, ability to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

Social Buddy – ref FO75 (re-opened 18/2/19)

When – 2 hours once a week                                                                                                          
Role – To support lady to attend activities  
Tasks – To support lady with correspondence and to explore activities in the local community which may be of interest to her. To provide companionship and to help reduce isolation. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
Skills required – Patience, good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, ability to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

Social Buddy – ref FO80 (reopened 22/5/19)

When – 2 - 3 hours once a week
Role – To support gentleman to go out in the community (male preferred)
Tasks – To visit with gentleman and support to go out in the community and also to go to Elgin. To provide social contact and reduce isolation. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
Skills required – Car driver essential. An awareness of the difficulties experienced by people with mobility difficulties (wheelchair user) desirable but not essential. Training provided. Patience, good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, ability to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

Alarm Responder x 1– ref FO97 (reopened 29/5/18)

When – as required, emergency situations only
Role – Community Alarm responder for gentleman – must live within 30 minutes travel time   
Tasks – call and check well being of person who has activated alarm.  Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
Skills required – Understanding, calm in difficult situations, level headed, Standard Disclosure check required, paid for by Moray Council.

Shopping Buddy – ref FO98 (reopened 11/7/19)

When – 2 hours once a week
Role – To support gentleman to go shopping  
Tasks – To support gentleman to do his weekly shopping. To provide social contact. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
Skills required – An awareness of the difficulties experienced by people with breathing difficulties (portable oxygen) desirable but not essential. Driver essential. Patience, good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, ability to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

Shopping Buddy – ref FO105 (reopened 2/5/19)

When – 2 hours once a week                                                                                                       
Role – To support lady to go shopping
Tasks – To support lady to go shopping by driving her in her own car. To provide social contact. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
Skills required – An awareness of the difficulties experienced by people with mobility difficulties (wheelchair user) desirable but not essential. Training provided. Driving licence essential. Patience, good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, ability to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

Hobbies Buddy – ref FO135 (reopened 1/11/18)

When – 2 hours once a week                                                                                                          
Role – To support gentleman with his hobby  
Tasks – To visit with gentleman and to help him with his hobby of tractors. To provide social contact.  Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
Skills required – An interest in tractors would be beneficial. An awareness of the difficulties experienced by people with mobility difficulties (wheelchair user) desirable but not essential. Training provided. Patience, good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, ability to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

When – 2 hours once per week                                                                                                    
Role – To visit with a young lady in her own home
Tasks – To visit with lady in her own home providing social company.  To explore activities that are of interest to her, eg crochet and crafts. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
Skills required – An awareness of difficulties experienced by people with mobility difficulties (wheelchair user) and a learning disability desirable but not essential. Training provided. An interest in Harry Potter and Marvel comics would be beneficial. Patience, good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, ability to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council.

Correspondence/Social Buddy – ref FO150 (re opened 10/9/18)

When – 2 hours once a week                                                                                                       
Role – To support lady with correspondence
Tasks – To support lady with correspondence and remind her about upcoming appointments. To provide an opportunity to socialise over cuppa and chat. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
Skills required – An awareness of the difficulties experienced by people with poor short term memory desirable but not essential. Patience, good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, ability to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

Role – To support gentleman to explore activities in his local community
Tasks – To support gentleman to explore activities that may be of interest to him in his local community. To provide social contact. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
